Every Suzani-pattern rug in this line starts on a loom in Afghanistan, where a weaver ties each knot by hand. The pattern is patterned after Suzani embroidery, translating the large floral medallions of traditional needlework into hand-knotted wool. The wool is undyed or naturally dyed where possible, so the colours are warm rather than flat, and the pile is dense enough to handle a busy household.

At 275 x 365 cm (9.0 x 12.0 ft), it's a good middle-of-the-room size — large enough to matter, not so large it fights the furniture. One rug, one weaver, months of work — which is also why no two pieces in this range are identical.
