Chobi Beige Forest rug 310x426cm
Woven by hand in Afghanistan, this Chobi rug is the sort of piece that gets better with a bit of foot traffic. It's a Chobi, the style Afghan weavers developed specifically to mimic the soft, aged colour of an antique Persian rug using new wool. The wool is undyed or naturally dyed where possible, so the colours are warm rather than flat, and the pile is dense enough to handle a busy household.
At 310 x 426 cm (10.2 x 14.0 ft), it's a good middle-of-the-room size — large enough to matter, not so large it fights the furniture. The palette stays in soft beige and cream, about as easy to place against existing furniture as a handmade rug gets. It ships as the individual piece shown in these photos; once it sells, that particular rug is gone.
