Afghan handmade rug,Chobi. Size: 180x120 cm
Woven by hand in Afghanistan, this Chobi rug is the sort of piece that gets better with a bit of foot traffic. It's a Chobi-pattern piece, named for the muted, sun-faded palette the style deliberately imitates using vegetable dye rather than fading over decades, and you can see the difference up close. It's knotted from 100% wool with natural dyes, which is why the tones sit slightly muted rather than looking printed or synthetic.
Sized 180 x 120 cm (5.9 x 3.9 ft), it's roomy enough to define a seating area without swallowing the rest of the floor. Being hand-knotted, it should soften and settle in over the first few months, the way natural-fibre rugs are meant to. This one's on sale right now — SR 3,200 down to SR 2,376.
