This Chobi rug was hand-knotted in Afghanistan, the kind of piece that takes months rather than days to finish. It's woven with the muted, vegetable-dyed palette the Chobi style is known for — soft rust, camel and ivory tones that mellow with age instead of fading out, and you can see the difference up close. It's knotted from 100% wool with natural dyes, which is why the tones sit slightly muted rather than looking printed or synthetic.

At 334 x 245 cm (11.0 x 8.0 ft), it's a good middle-of-the-room size — large enough to matter, not so large it fights the furniture. Being hand-knotted, it should soften and settle in over the first few months, the way natural-fibre rugs are meant to.
