This Chobi rug was hand-knotted in Afghanistan, the kind of piece that takes months rather than days to finish. The pattern is woven in the Chobi style — an open field, a restrained border, and a colour palette built to look decades old the day it's finished. Made from 100% wool with natural dyes, the colour has real depth to it — the kind you only get from pigment worked into the fibre, not sprayed on top.

At 324 x 252 cm (10.6 x 8.3 ft), it's a solid anchor for a living or dining room — big enough that furniture can sit on it rather than around it. Being hand-knotted, it should soften and settle in over the first few months, the way natural-fibre rugs are meant to.
