Afghan handmade small rug, doormat Chobi. Size: 90x60cm

Woven by hand in Afghanistan, this Chobi rug is the sort of piece that gets better with a bit of foot traffic. The pattern is a Chobi, the style Afghan weavers developed specifically to mimic the soft, aged colour of an antique Persian rug using new wool. Made from 100% wool with natural dyes, the colour has real depth to it — the kind you only get from pigment worked into the fibre, not sprayed on top.

This smaller 90 x 60 cm (3.0 x 2.0 ft) piece is a low-commitment way to try a handmade rug — an entry mat, a spot beside the bed, or a landing pad by the door. It ships as the individual piece shown in these photos; once it sells, that particular rug is gone. It's currently reduced from SR 650 to SR 594.
