Vintage Afghan Chobi rug 283x220cm

This Chobi rug is hand-knotted in Afghanistan on 100% wool, the traditional way, with no shortcuts. The pattern is a Chobi, the style Afghan weavers developed specifically to mimic the soft, aged colour of an antique Persian rug using new wool. Made from 100% wool with natural dyes, the colour has real depth to it — the kind you only get from pigment worked into the fibre, not sprayed on top.

Sized 283 x 220 cm (9.3 x 7.2 ft), it's roomy enough to define a seating area without swallowing the rest of the floor. Being hand-knotted, it should soften and settle in over the first few months, the way natural-fibre rugs are meant to.
